Shoal Creek Bikeway and Sidewalk Improvements

City of Austin

The Shoal Creek Bikeway and Sidewalks Project included over five miles of protected bikeway on Shoal Creek Boulevard between 38th Street and Hwy 183. The design included one-way and two-way protected bike lanes, new pedestrian crossings and sidewalks, ADA Ramps, curb and gutter, pavement reconstruction, intersection reconfigurations, pedestrian crossing islands, pedestrian crossing signals, lane re-striping, drainage improvements and storm inlet modifications.

This project was part of the 2016 Mobility Bond and is one of many projects the Austin Transportation Department has implemented to make its neighborhoods a better place to live, work and play.

This project was chosen as the 2021 Project of the Year - Transportation (Less than $2 Million) by the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
