MWM DesignGroup partnered with City of Austin Public Works and Austin Transportation on the City’s “Shared Streets” program, a pedestrian-focused initiative aimed at enhancing comfort and safety on neighborhood streets through integrated mobility and infrastructure improvements. Scope of services included:
Civil and in-field engineering design and construction
Implementation of traffic calming devices including bollards and pavement striping
Sidewalk bridging and new pedestrian crossings
ADA-compliant ramps and sidewalk improvements
Pavement rehabilitation and lane re-striping
Intersection reconfiguration and curb & gutter
installation Drainage improvements and storm inlet modifications
Installation of rain gardens and landscape enhancements
Tree planting and irrigation system repairs
Water meter reconstruction and coordination with utility infrastructure
Signage installation to support new traffic and pedestrian configurations
