US 183 Bergstrom Expressway Utility Relocation

Capital Metro

MWM DesignGroup provided civil engineering and surveying services for an 8-mile utility relocation project under contract with Colorado River Constructors (CRC) and Parsons Brinckerhoff for the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority.

MWM’s scope included utility design for eight separate construction packages and the surveys required for utility relocations. Selected as one of three consultants for utility relocation, MWM designed over 38,000 linear feet of water and wastewater lines—accounting for more than 40% of the total project length— divided into 20 permit packages and eight design packages. The team consistently delivered two 60% submittal packages weekly during January, with the eigth, and final, package submitted in early February. Surveying efforts included boundary surveys, preparation of metes and bounds sketches for 99 easements, review of title commitments, preparation of 53 title letters, and easement strip maps, along with topographic surveys to support utility design within the easements.

MWM demonstrated exceptional client service by adhering to an aggressive schedule, engaging in daily collaboration with reviewers to expedite comment resolution, and strategically splitting the project into multiple permit packages to expedite permitting.
