MWM DesignGroup is proud to announce two newly licensed Professional Engineers in its midst
Austin, Texas. January 5, 2011.
Brandon Hammann, P.E., CPESC, LEED AP BD&C and Steve Zobal, P.E. have recently successfully passed their PE licensure exams. Congratulations!

Brandon Hammann, P.E., CPESC, LEED AP BD&C has been with MWM DesignGroup for almost a year and has over four years of engineering, management, and construction experience on numerous private and public sector projects throughout Central Texas, with an emphasis on site infrastructure design for land development projects. Mr. Hammann has been an active member of the ASCE Austin Branch since 2007 and currently serves as the Chair of the Public Relations and Community Service Committees.

Steve Zobal, P.E. has been with MWM DesignGroup for two and a half years with experience in water, wastewater, storm sewer and culvert modeling and design of public and private projects. Mr. Zobal is currently involved in preparing hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loading diagrams to assist a structural engineer in the analysis and possible upgrade of both dams at BartonSprings Pool. Mr. Zobal is also active in the local chapter of ASCE and is currently serving as Chapter Treasurer.

MWM DesignGroup receives SMBR Consultant of the Year 2010 Award
Austin, Texas. November 16, 2010.
MWM DesignGroup was awarded "Consultant of the Year 2010" by the City of Austin Small & Minority Business Resources Department (SMBR) as part of their 5th Annual Contractors' Appreciation Event. This event celebrates diversity in contracting and honors contractors and consultants specifically in the Austin area.
SMBR assists small minority-owned and women-owned businesses as they pursue contracting opportunities with the City of Austin; encourages MBE/WBEs to participate in City contracts; and oversees the City's MBE/WBE and DBE contracting goals in the areas of construction, professional services, commodities and non-professional services.

MWM New Hires

Lance Parisher, P.E. has recently joined MWM DesignGroup as Project Engineer. Mr. Parisher has over 5 years of experience in land development, public infrastructure, and water resources engineering in the City of Austin and surrounding areas as well as the City of Houston. Mr. Parisher serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Men’s Business League, The Austin Sunshine Camps and as the Chair of the Austin Under 40 Awards.
Frank Del Castillo has recently joined MWM DesignGroup as Land Entitlement Project Manager. Mr. Del Castillo has over 20 years of entitlement, management, engineering, and construction experience. He has worked on numerous private and public sector projects throughout the Central Texas region.

Amelia Lopez receives Central Texas DiversityFIRST Award from the Texas Diversity Council

Amelia Lopez, MWM DesignGroup's Principal, was recognized for her commitment to promote diversity in public as well as private organizations.
The Texas Diversity Council (TXDC) is committed to fostering a learning environment for organizations to grow in their knowledge of diversity.
The TXDC is currently made up of four Councils throughout the state of Texas. The Councils serve the greater Metropolitan Areas of Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Amelia Lopez receives National Association of Hispanic Firefighters Medal of Honor at the Annual National Convention in Houston, Texas.
Houston, Texas. September 20, 2010.
Amelia Lopez, MWM DesignGroup's Principal, was awarded the NAHF Medal of Honor for her continued dedication and services to the organization.
NAHF is a non-profit, 501(C)(3) organization. Since 1995 the NAHF has worked to increase fire prevention and safety education in our communities. Their organization works locally, nationally, and internationally to develop programs that enhance the way municipalities provide emergency services when challenged with language, social, and cultural barriers. The NAHF also strives towards a diverse workforce within fire departments to reflect the communities they serve. The NAHF is an inclusive organization with members of all race, color, creed, gender, social and economic background who finds strength in diversity.

Julia Harrod, P.E. was named the President-Elect by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers

Julia M. Harrod, P.E., was named the President-Elect by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). Ms. Harrod is the president of MWM DesignGroup, Inc. in Austin, Texas, an inter-disciplinary design firm.
TSPE, one of the largest state societies in the United States, was founded in 1936 to serve the interests of the individual engineer in Texas across all branches of engineering. Composed of 25 local chapters and eight student chapters, TSPE is the only active, established organization devoting its entire effort to the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering in Texas.
